Simple Creatures (Blink-182, All Time Low): Neue Musik ist „eine Frage des Timings“

Mit Simple Creatures formierte sich vergangenes Jahr eine Supergroup – oder eher ein Super-Duo – aus Blink-182-Sänger Mark Hoppus und All Time Low-Frontmann Alex Gaskarth. Zwei EPs namens „Strange Love“ und „Everything Opposite“ gab es schon auf die Lauscher.

Wann wir mit neuer Musik rechnen dürfen, ist allerdings noch nicht ganz klar. Mark Hoppus ließ in einem neuen Interview mit Rock Sound wissen, dass beide gerade mit ihren Hauptbands beschäftigt seien. Demnach sei Alex Gaskarth sei gerade noch mit dem kürzlich veröffentlichten Album von All Time Low beschäftigt und die Pandemie mache es auch nicht leichter, an neuer Musik zu feilen.

Sie haben bereits Material für eine neue EP in der Hinterhand, müssen nun aber das Songwriting sowie einige weitere Tracks finalisieren.

Simple Creature (Blink-182, All Time Low) haben bereits an neuer Musik gearbeitet

„Simple Creatures is like this ongoing inside joke that the world gets to take part in. The whole concept was everything opposite of what we would do in our bands and we wanted to do something that was different to blink or All Time Low.

We want to continue making music but it’s very difficult for me and Alex to do it. All Time Low is launching an album and we’re in a pandemic so we want to get back in the studio and make more rad stuff but it’s a matter of timing.

We have the beginnings of another EP of music. We just have to finish it up and write a new song or two. But we both love it.

It’s a labour of love and something that we do outside of our normal bands. I think there’s no limits and no rules and we can do whatever we want. That’s what I also love about blink, but blink is this giant machine that takes a long time to pivot and do things. This is something that we do for the love of music and being silly.“

Der Wille ist da, das Grundgerüst auch. Solange wie auf das aktuelle Album von Tool müssen wir also sicherlich nicht warten. Das ganze Interview mit Mark Hoppus könnt ihr euch nachfolgend anhören.

All Time Low brachten im April ihr aktuelles Album „Wake Up, Sunshine“ auf den Markt. Blink-182 wiederum ließen vergangenes Jahr ihren Longplayer „Nine“ vom Stapel. Vor kurzem gab es außerdem noch die neue Single „Quarantine“ auf die Lauscher.
