Unser Admin sorgt dafür, dass alles funktioniert. Manchmal funktioniert es nicht, dann ist zwar er schuld. Aber dann repariert er es und wir haben ihn alle wieder lieb.
Auch wenn man die Mitglieder von Slipknot mittlerweile auch allesamt ohne Masken kennt, was nicht zuletzt auch an weiteren Musikprojekten der Mitglieder liegt, so sind sie noch immer das Markenzeichen der Band. Und mittlerweile auch Kult geworden.

Immer wieder wird die Kombo um Frontmann Corey Taylor allerdings gefragt, ob sie sich auch Auftritte ohne Maske vorstellen können. Und immer wieder lautet die Antwort gleich: Niemals.
Für Slipknot-Percussionist „Clown“ ist die Maske ein Stück Identifikation
Einmal mehr machte Percussionist Shawn „Clown“ Crahan in einem neuen Interview mit The Fred Minnick Show deutlich, dass die Masken viel mehr sind, als nur eine Verkleidung. Auch wenn es manchmal umständlich ist, würde er persönlich sich billig und betrogen fühlen, wenn er jemals ohne Maske auftreten würde.
„There’s not a day that doesn’t go by that every member wishes we didn’t have to wear that stuff. Especially since it was my idea in the sense of I brought it to the table. And for all I know, maybe some of the guys think it’s the worst thing ever. They went with it because of our love for each other and our dream and our brand, but secretly, some people could be just, like, ‚I can’t believe I signed up my whole life for this,‘ whereas I’m only doing it with that. So I never forced it on anyone. It seems like it’s what we wanted to do. And it’s helped, and it really is who we are. People ask me all the time, ‚Are you gonna take off the mask?‘ And I say, ‚Why do I need to do that?‘ […] We are not your kind. We are not like you. We’re not part of your hypothesis. For me, it’s pure religion. It’s my life. And I can’t ever fathom going in so personal because of laziness or stress or just the will to not wanna put it on anymore. I signed the deal we did in the beginning, and there’s just never been any [thought] of anything else. […]“
Ganz ehrlich – was wären Slipknot auch ohne ihre Masken? Wir können es uns sowieso kaum vorstellen.

Im August vergangenen Jahres brachten Slipknot ihr neues Studioalbum „We Are Not Your Kind“ auf den Markt. Anfang des Jahres waren sie damit auf großer Headliner-Show in Europa unterwegs.
Im August diesen Jahres wollten sie eigentlich wiederkommen. Neben eines Auftritts auf dem Wacken Open Air, das bereits abgesagt wurde, standen eigentlich zwei Headliner-Konzerte auf dem Programm.
Ein Statement zu einer Verschiebung oder eine Absage steht bislang noch aus.
