Lamb Of God lassen ihre Single „Memento Mori“ vom Stapel

Lamb Of God haben vor kurzem ihr brandneues selbstbetiteltes Studioalbum angekündigt. Mit „Checkmate“ gab es dann auch direkt die erste Single auf die Ohren.

Nun bringt die Kombo um Frontmann Randy Blythe den nächsten Track an den Start. Wie angekündigt heißt dieser „Memento Mori“ und steht nachfolgend nebst Musik-Video zum Anhören und Anschauen bereit.

Die neue Scheibe erscheint am 08. Mai. Zuletzt veröffentlichten Lamb Of God als Burn The Priest 2018 das Album „Legion: XX“. Unter dem Namen LOG erschien zuletzt 2015 die Scheibe „VII: Sturm und Drang“. Die bevorstehende LP ist der erste gemeinsame Output der Band mit Winds Of Plague-Schlagzeuger Art Cruz. Er ersetzt Chris Adler, der die Band vergangenes Jahr verließ.

Ihre bevorstehende Co-Headliner-Tour mit Kreator und dem Special Guest Power Trip mussten sie wegen des Coronavirus verschieben.

#MementoMori // Link in Bio There is a vast amount of indisputably real & depressingly negative occurrences happening across the globe. Currently, at the forefront of everyone’s mind is the global COVID-19 pandemic. This is a very real concern, & proper precautions need to be taken by EVERYONE to protect those most at risk- the elderly, infirm, & immuno compromised. It’s a scary time, but in this hyper-connected age with its 24/7 never-ending news cycle of atrocity, outrage & lurid click-bait headlines (not mention ill-informed lunatics running amuck spreading misinformation & panic on social media), it’s all too easy to lose sight of the fact that life is still carrying on, & good things do in fact still happen. Months ago, I wrote “Memento Mori” as a reminder to myself to not be consumed by the omnipresent electronic harbingers of doom that surround us- cellphones, computers, & television screens. While these devices are useful tools, & it’s important to stay informed, it’s equally important to remain engaged w/the real, physical world we live in, not just digitally filtered representations of reality. I wrote the narrative music video a few months ago to illustrate how warped & myopic our mental states can become when we fail to remain engaged with that reality- if all you pay attention to is catastrophe, then soon you will begin to see monsters everywhere. The actual monsters we used are Sinisteria, a Richmond, VA haunted house/dark performance troupe I met at our annual Krampus Nacht parade. RVA has a strong tradition of loud music & weird costumed monsters working together to make salient points (we are the birthplace of GWAR, after all), & I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Music has always been there for me, raising my spirits during hard times- it’s my hope that this song’s positive message will do the same for our fans right now & beyond. The release date was set a good while ago, but the timing seems eerily prescient to me now. So enjoy the song & video, then remember: step away from the screens for a bit- real life is waiting for you. We only get one shot, so don’t waste this day. Take care of yourselves & EACH OTHER.
