Bob Vylan üben mit ihrem neuen Song „Hunger Games“ Gesellschaftskritik

Bob Vylan beehren uns im April mit ihrem neuen Album „Humble As The Sun“. Bevor uns das gute Stück erreicht, ist ja aber noch ein bisschen Zeit und diese bietet sich natürlich für ein paar Singles an.

So geschehen auch in der ersten Januarwoche, denn mit „Hunger Games“ bringt die Kombo ein gesellschaftskritisches Stück an den Start, das sogleich mit passendem Musikvideo daherkommt. Doch hört und schaut einfach selbst.

Zur Thematik des Tracks hat Frontmann Bobby folgende Worte parat:

„[A] rallying cry for everybody that’s sick of suffering due this economic crisis that we’re living with.

‘Cost of living crisis’ makes it sound neat and tidy but it’s a direct result of years of austerity, politicians that prioritise their selfish desires before the good of the country and a capitalist system that is allowing landlords, and big companies to operate unchecked.

It talks about the economic hardships many of us are facing but it doesn’t just leave it there. It offers hope and inspiration. It attempts to remind people of the power and worth that we posses despite our financial earnings.“

„Humble As The Sun“ erscheint am 05. April 2024 mit zehn Stücken, darunter auch die bereits bekannten Stücke „Dream Big“ und „He’s A Man“. Die Tracklist liest sich wie folgt:

Zuletzt brachten Bob Vylan 2022 ihre Platte „Bob Vylan Presents the Price of Life“ auf den Markt. Im Sommer diesen Jahres sind sie u.a. beim Jera On Air in den Niederlanden zu sehen.
