As I Lay Dying: Tim Lambesis und Co. sprechen über „Shaped By Fire“

Vor kurzem haben As I Lay Dying ihr neues Studioalbum „Shaped By Fire“ für den 20. September angekündigt.

Damit uns die Wartezeit bis dahin nicht so lang erscheint, veröffentlicht die Band munter einen Blick hinter die Kulissen nach dem anderen.

Mittlerweile hat es ein neuer Clip zum Entstehungsprozess an die Öffentlichkeit geschafft, den ihr euch natürlich beigefügt haben.

Im ersten, bereits vor wenigen Tagen veröffentlichten Video äußert sich Frontmannn Tim Lambesis persönlich zur Bedeutung des Titeltracks im Speziellen sowie des Albums im Allgemeinen (via ThePRP):

“The chorus for “Shaped By Fire” really sums up a lot of what’s going on on the album lyrically. To me being shaped by fire is an easy to understand metaphor, so I felt like it’s a great title. But beyond being easy to understand, [you can] definitely dig deeper, you can really understand the need for transformation, Understand transformation is a painful process. “Shaped By Fire” talks about taking those painful moments in our lives and using them to them to transform, to be reborn in a lot of ways.

In the first verse of that song I talk about [how] wise people know how to sort of refine themselves through that fire and change process on their own. Then the second verse shifts over to me talking about the failures and pain that I brought upon myself and the pain I brought upon others and when I eventually hit rock bottom I had no choice but to change.”

„Shaped By Fire“ ist das nunmehr siebte Studioalbum von As I Lay Dying. Darüber hinaus markiert die Platte den ersten neuen Output der Band seit sieben Jahren.

Bisher veröffentlichten Tim Lambesis und Co. den Titeltrack sowie die Songs „Redefined“ und „My Own Grave“. Insgesamt werden zwölf neue Tracks auf dem neuen Werk zu finden sein.
