Völlig überraschend erreichte uns Mitte der Woche die Nachricht, dass Power Trip-Sänger Riley Gale im Alter von gerade mal 35 Jahren verstorben ist. Nicht nur uns, sondern auch Fans und die ganze Musikwelt traf diese Nachricht hart.

Kollegen aus dem Business zollten dem verstorbenen Sänger in den vergangenen Tagen nun Tribut. Über ihre Socials teilten Beteiligte aus der Musikwelt Erinnerungen mit und an Riley Gale. Worte für den Verlust fanden u.a. Mitglieder von Slipknot, Volbeat, Hatebreed, Anthrax, Trivium und mehr.

What a terrible, sad way to wake up; finding out that our friend Riley of Power Trip has passed away. It really comes as a shock. We had the privilege of sharing stage with Riley on a run of Volbeat/Power Trip shows in the US in 2017, where Riley did an amazing version of our song “Evelyn.” He was such a sweet and down to Earth guy, and we had a great time hanging out backstage before and after the shows. An amazing frontman with a great voice, truly the real deal (which is so rare these days). Our condolences go out to his family, friends and his bandmates in Power Trip. The metal scene has truly lost an important voice that was not only carrying the torch for thrash metal and rock and roll, but also spoke from both the mind and the heart. Mit Power Trip brachte er gemeinsam zwei Alben auf den Markt, zuletzt die aktuelle Scheibe „Nightmare Logic“ im Februar 2017.
