Machine Head-Frontmann Robb Flynn: „Die Welt ist deutlich düsterer ohne Chester Bennington“

Mehr als drei Jahre ist es nun her, dass Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) verstarb. Machine Head-Frontmann Robb Flynn zollte dem Musiker erst im Juli anlässlich seines Todestags Tribut, indem er ein Live-Cover zum Linkin Park-Hit „In The End“ auf seinen Socials teilte.
Anlässlich des 20. Geburtstags von „Hybrid Theory“ schrieb Flynn nun auf seinem Blog „The General Journals: Diary Of A Frontman… And Other Ramblings“ einige Worte zur Platte, zu Linkin Park und zu Chester Bennington.

Demnach sei der Einfluss von „Hybrid Theory“ bis heute immens groß: „Congrats to 20 years of this album. Love this album. It has stood the test of time amazingly well. And how many bands has this record influenced of the younger generation….countless.“
Im weiteren Verlauf beschreibt er die Touchpoints, die er mit LP hatte und dass durch den Tod von Chester ein besonderer Mensch fehlt. Die Welt sei ein Stück dunkler geworden, seit er nicht mehr da ist.
„I’ve seen LP in Paris, Belarus, a few more home shows, and had the pleasure of playing several festivals with them. Chester would come over and said hello to me while I was watching from the side of the stage, and then came and watched our show. I wouldn’t say we were friends by any stretch, but they knew who I was, and would get me into the shows. The world is a lot darker place without Chester in it. I wouldn’t pretend to know if this is a bittersweet moment for the rest of the guys or not, but it is a moment they should be very, very proud of.“

Anlässlich des 20. Geburtstags ihres Erstlingswerks brachten Linkin Park vor kurzem eine Jubiläums-Ausgabe von „Hybrid Theory“ auf den Markt.
Machine Head wiederum beehren uns schon in absehbarer Zeit mit neuer Musik. Die Kombo stellte eine neue Single namens „My Hands Are Empty“ für den 06. November 2020 in Aussicht.
