August Burns Red: Frontmann bekräftigt Unterstützung für As I Lay Dying

Die Kontroverse um das Comeback von As I Lay Dying, insbesondere aber deren Frontmann Tim Lambesis wird – zumindest unserer Einschätzung nach – sicherlich niemals abklingen und permanent in den Köpfen der Musikfans verankert sein.

In einem Gespräch mit dem Podcast Full Metal Jackie hat sich nun August Burns Red-Sänger Jake Luhrs über die Beweggründe geäußert, mit der von ihm gegründeten HeartSupport-Initiative und in Zusammenarbeit mit AILD die Mini-Doku „Misery Evolving“ zu veröffentlichen.

Das Video erzählt den Aufstieg, Fall und Weg zum erneuten Aufstieg des Ende 2016 auf Bewährung entlassenenen Lambesis in etwas mehr als 15 Minuten.

As I Lay Dying können auf Support von Jake Luhrs (August Burns Red) zählen

Luhrs habe kein persönliches Problem mit der kontroversen Vergangenheit von Lambesis, wie er im Interview wissen lässt.

Bei HeartSupport gehe es ihm weder um Hautfarbe oder Liebschaften noch um Taten oder dergleichen. Er möchte mit seiner Initiative Menschen frei von jeglichem Kontext helfen.

Die Geschehnisse der letzten zwei, drei Jahre rund um As I Lay Dying beschreibt er in seinen Ausführungen als eine „wunderschöne Geschichte über Erlösung und Vergebung“ (via Loudwire):

“First of all HeartSupport is all about acceptance, and encouraging and forgiving. Our slogan is: ‘It doesn’t matter the color of your skin, what you believe in, who you are in love with, what’s been done to you, or what you have done, we accept you and want to help you where you are.’

I think that AILD’s story is a really beautiful one of redemption and forgiveness. It’s one that I don’t think a lot of people may think that forgiveness goes that far, or redemption is able at that point or forgiveness that we can really do that.

I really want to showcase and support them and give them a place to share that story and the truth about that and their process of forgiving each other and all of that, and kind of remind or see that we need to love each other.

We need to practice forgiveness and lean to second chances because it doesn’t matter really. You can take that story, their story, apply that to your own life and in some degree, you will need acceptance for forgiveness; you’re going to have to do that with other people. We’re human. And if we choose love we can conquer a lot of evil and a lot of hurt and pain.”

Spätestens mit dem Release des derzeit für September gehandelten, neuen Albums von As I Lay Dying dürfte sicherlich die nächsten Diskussionen ins Haus stehen.
