Mehr als zwei Jahre ist es bereits her, dass die Dropkick Murphys ihr aktuelles Album „11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory“ auf den Markt gebracht haben. Nun steht neue Musik in den Startlöchern und zwar in Form einer EP.
Die Kombo aus Quincy, Massachusetts kündigte den neuen Output mit zwei Songs namens „Smash Hit Up“ als 12″ Vinyl für den 31. Januar an. Darauf enthalten sein werden der Titeltrack sowie ein cover von „The Bonny“ von Gerry Cinnamon.
Die Band kommentierte ihren neuen Output wie folgt:
„Very Excited to release new music new vinyl and a new video. On January 31 we’ve got some new music coming your way — our new song “Smash Shit Up” and a cover of “The Bonny” by Glasgow, Scotland’s Gerry Cinnamon. These 2 songs will be available on all streaming platforms worldwide – and on 12” 45rpm vinyl (two colors, to be announced soon). You can pick up the vinyl at our shows and our online store.“
Ein neues Studioalbum soll außerdem im Herbst diesen Jahres erscheinen. Vorfreude!
Der bevorstehenden Longplayer markiert das nunmehr zehnte Studioalbum der Dropkick Murphys. Das Debütwerk „Do Or Die“ erschien anno 1998. Ab Ende des Monats ist die Kombo für einige Live-Shows hierzulande zu Gast.
