Loathe haben überraschend ein neues Album veröffentlicht

Wir lieben Überraschungen. Umso schöner finden wir es, dass uns Loathe an diesem Wochenende mit neuer Musik überrascht haben. Seit einigen Tagen schon teaste die Band um Frontmann Kadeem France etwas über ihre Socials und nun wissen wir auch worum es sich handelt.

Die Kombo veröffentlichte nämlich ein neues Ambient Instrumental-Album „The Things They Believe“ mit zwölf neuen Tracks. Das Konzept hinter dem Longplayer kommentierte die Band wie folgt:

„The concept for ‘The Things They Believe‘ was born from the incredible response to ‘I Let It In And It Took Everything‘, which became the impetus to extend the identity and timeline of the record. Creating sonic landscapes and parallels that explore and expand further on the areas within ‘I Let It In And It Took Everything’.

As we release this collection of atmospheres, we hope you lose yourself further within this chapter and, much like our love for soundtracks and soundscapes provides us with solace in times of distress and need, we hope you find comfort inside too.“

Wie Bassist Feisal El-Khazragi den Kollegen von Kerrang! verriet, schwirrte die Idee eines Ambient Instrumental-Albums nicht erst seit gestern in den Köpfen der Bandmitglieder herum. Der Corona-Lockdown tat lediglich sein Übriges, um das Ganze auch umgesetzt zu bekommen.

„We’ve always been into ambient music. When we hit lockdown, and there was that pressure to do something different, we weren’t really fans of what other bands were doing in terms of livestreams and all that. I guess what fans would’ve expected would be a ‘regular album’. We thought it would be cool to do something more unexpected, while also tapping into that element of ambient sound that’s already baked into the band.“

Fun Fact: Die Veröffentlichung am Sonntagabend erreicht uns tatsächlich haargenau ein Jahr später nach der Release des vorherigen Albums „I Let It In And It Took Everything“. Dieses erschien am 07. Feburar 2020 und stellt das zweite Studioalbum von Loathe dar. Ihr Debüt-Werk „The Cold Sun“ brachten die Briten 2017 auf den Markt.
