Disturbed: Band-Maskottchen „The Guy“ bekommt eigene Comic-Reihe

Nicht viele Bands besitzen ein eigenes Maskottchen, doch Disturbed gehören zu den ausgewählten Acts, die einen solchen Begleiter ihr Eigen nennen dürfen. Und „The Guy“, wie die Gestalt heißt, die auf verschiedenen Releases der Band auftaucht, wird nun erst richtig berühmt, denn er bekommt eine eigene Comic-Reihe.

Die fünfteilige Serie trägt den Namen „Dark Messiah“ und kommt auch noch mit einer ganz eigenen Action-Figur daher. Dafür hat sich die Band um Frontmann David Draiman mit Incendium und Heavy Metal Entertainment zusammengetan.

Disturbed-Maskottchen „The Guy“ ist ab sofort Aciton-Figur und Comic-Held

Herausgekommen ist eine ganz eigene Story rund um „The Guy“, die sich laut offizieller Pressemeldung wie folgt liest:

„Dark Messiah takes place in the not so distant future, as firefighter Griffin DeSanto finds himself a man out of time, stumbling into a harsh world of poverty, automation, and subjugation. Technology rules and a tech empire built on suffering keeps the population in check through surveillance and mechanized policing. Though lost, Griffin is never alone. He was brought here for a reason, and The Vengeful One is his guide.“

Die Story rund um „The Guy“ wurde von Incendium CEO Llexi Leon und Tim Seeley (Nightwing, Hack/Slash) geschrieben; die Illustrationen steuerte Ángel Hernández (Arrow, Star Trek) bei. Das Cover-Artwork stammt von Ryan Christensen.

Disturbed selbst sind ebenfalls sehr begeistert von der Karriere, die ihr Maskottchen nun einschlagen darf:

„Ever since ‘The Guy’ made his debut 20 years ago his evolution and transformation has only grown. We are excited to take ‘The Guy’ to the next level and bring his story to the forefront via both the comic book series and action figures. We can’t wait to share this next chapter with all of you“
