Confessions Of A Traitor haben uns vor kurzem mit ihrem Linkin Park-Cover zu „Papercut“ überrascht. Nun folgt ein neuer vollwertiger Song aus der Feder der britischen Band, denn die Londoner präsentieren ihre neue Single „Man About Town“.
Das Stück sowie die Bedeutung hinter den Lyrics kommentiert die Band wie folgt:
„This song is based on the game Bioshock. Lyrically it’s back and forth between the protagonist of the game, Jack, and the antagonist Andrew Ryan. The song makes a statement through the eyes of Jack about how corrupted the underwater city of Rapture is. Jacks line ‚A flawed mantra since this all began; No Gods or Kings, Only Man‘ is a direct quote from the game condemning Andrews stance on the world, hereby creating a society where people would thrive and did live without ‚petty morality‘. However, the opposite happened as individuality and beliefs were stripped from them, with Andrew Ryan posing as the only figure of authority, creating exactly what he was trying so hard to prevent. This song and the world of Rapture provided an escape for us, even as crazy as our world is right now. It has shown us that diversity and individuality is so important and never to take advantage of those who are vulnerable. Being selfless is something we champion as it ultimately creates a harmonious place to live. We need to live this now more than ever.“

Ob uns demnächst auch ein neues Album erwartet, ist noch nicht klar. Abseits des Linkin Park-Covers durften wir uns zuletzt über eine Single namens „Don’t Make A Girl A Promise“ freuen.
Bislang können Confessions Of A Traitor ein Album ihr Eigen nennen. Das Debütwerk „Guided“ erschien 2019. Zuvor brachten die Briten außerdem zwei EPs sowie einige Singles and en Start.
