Children Of Bodom: Blacksmith, Raatikainen und Wirman mit Statement zu ihrem Weggang
Das Abschiedskonzert fand vor kurzem statt.
Julia L. ist die zweite Julia im MoreCore-Bunde und ergänzt das Team gerne mit Rezensionen, News, Live-Berichten sowie kleineren und größeren Schreibarbeiten. Als Germanistin aus dem schönen Hessen ist sie ständig hin- und hergerissen zwischen “da ist ein grammatikalischer Fehler im Satz!” und “am liebste tät isch de ganze Tach nur hessisch babbele”. Tippt sie nicht gerade wie wild auf der Tastatur rum, um irgendetwas zu Papier zu bringen, findet man sie gerne mit ihrem Hund im Feld oder auf Shows und Konzerten im Rhein-Main-Gebiet. Für einige Bands fährt sie aber auch gerne mal nach NRW, Rheinland-Pfalz, Bayern oder Baden-Württemberg. Autofahren tut sie auch besonders gerne und hat dabei am liebsten gute Musik laufen. Leider will wegen der bei ihren Freunden verhassten “Schreimusik” kaum jemand mitfahren. Umso besser, denn dann hört niemand, wie schief sie mitsingt!
Children Of Bodom verkündeten vor kurzem, dass sie sich von ihren Bandmitgliedern Jaska Raatikainen (Schlagzeug), Henkka T. Blacksmith (Bass) und Janne Wirman (Keyboard) trennen. Dieser Tage fand dann noch die finale Abschiedsshow in originalem Line-Up statt.
Die drei ausgestiegenen Mitglieder veröffentlichen nun erstmals eine Statement zu ihrem Weggang. Darin berichten sie von den Beweggründen, die Band zu verlassen. Weiterhin erläutern sie die Rechte am Namen der Band. Diese besitzen zwar die drei ausgestiegenen Mitglieder, wollen sie Frontmann Alexi Laiho und Gitarrist Daniel Freybergnicht allerdings nicht „wegnehmen“.

„[…] We have received a lot of questions about what we’re going to do next and why we quit. Since this decision has sparked up a conversation and false rumors, we want to talk about why we ended up making it, one more time. There is no argument behind the band’s name trademark or its use. We have a joint agreement. Alexi Laiho sold his share of the company and this meant that the three of us became owners of the COB brand. Although plans for our future are open, what is certain is that we will never do anything to disrespect this brand and the long career we’ve built together. Also, we definitely want to set the record straight with the misconception that we quit because we have families or wanted to retire. Music is our profession and our lives, and all our families know that. They are proud of what we do, and they completely have our back. It should also go without saying that we as individuals are not retiring. Success brings with it the responsibility to take a stand on decisions unrelated to music as well. These decisions were very difficult for us. We were five band members, each with their own roles, but we couldn’t find a shared viewpoint during these last few years. The reason for writing this is not to point fingers but to clear things up. We are and always will be proud of what COB achieved together. […]“
Wie es mit Children Of Bodom nun weitergeht, ist derzeit noch nicht bekannt. Das aktuelle Album „Hexed“ erschien Anfang des Jahres.
