MoreCore.de: How does it feel to be back in Europe after your hiatus?
Dan Jacobs: Amazing! We love the energy of the crowds in Europe plus that mixed with all the diverse history and culture it’s always refreshing to come over and rock the other side of the world
MoreCore.de: What happened during your break?

Dan Jacobs: We had a chance to find ourselves as individuals, to see who we were outside of the band, and to see how much green the grass potential was on the other side. All we had known since graduating High School was touring and making music with Atreyu so it was time for us to step back and fill that void in our lives.
MoreCore.de: How do the new songs feel on stage and how does the crowd accept the new songs?
Dan Jacobs: They feel great! It’s always refreshing playing new songs. Especially for a band like ourselves that has been around for 16 years and 5 albums. It can get a little routine after a while so for us and the fans it’s always great to incorporate some new music.
MoreCore.de: You changed your style throughout your last releases. What do you personally think about your first releases?
Dan Jacobs: All of our releases were steps towards finding ourself as people and musicians and more importantly finely tune the bigger picture. Our earlier music is a reflection of our lives at the time we wrote those songs so every record has its own flavor. We’re proud of everything we’ve done and Long Live wouldn’t be what it is without everything we have tried and been through along the way.
MoreCore.de: Besides you there have also been comebacks of bands like IT DIES TODAY, HASTE THE DAY or STILL REAMINS. Some started crowdfunding projects to finance their new records. What do you think of those projects and are you glad to be not in need of this kind of help?

Dan Jacobs: I feel our band came out at a time when our unique original sound had a greater impact on the world because the scene wasn’t as watered down yet. The type of bands you listed came around in the second wave of „Metalcore“ so their impact didn’t have as deep of roots as Atreyu hence why our comeback has been a success and the second wave of Metalcore bands is relying on crowd funding to survive. We consider ourselves very fortunate and are enjoying every moment of our return.
MoreCore.de: You’ve been a band while MySpace became the most important social media tool. What do you enjoy more – MySpace or Facebook?
Dan Jacobs: I like MySpace more only because it was such a new exciting type of social Media in its time that paved the way for Facebook and all the other social media giants we realy on to socialize these days. Then again I have stock in Facebook so they’re pretty awesome as well!
MoreCore.de: Which records are spinning in the ATREYU tour bus right now?
Dan Jacobs: The new Mariachi El Bronx, Magic!, Santa Cruz, Trivium, Misfits.
