Erst letztes Jahr brachten Venom Prison brachten Venom Prison ihr aktuelles Album „Samsara“ auf den Markt; nun steht schon wieder eine neue Release in den Startlöchern.
Am 09. Oktober bringt die walisische Band ihre Platte „Primeval“ an den Start, auf der Songs der beiden bereits veröffentlichten EPs „Primal Chaos“ und „Defy The Tyrant“ sowie zwei brandneue Tracks zu finden sind.
Den Titeltrack von „Defy The Tyrant“ gibt es jetzt in aufgehübschter Form zusammen mit einem passenden Musik-Video auf die Lauscher. Die Kombo kommentierte den Track wie folgt:
„This song is not only criticising organised religion and Christianity as a whole but also the ways in which it was spread across the whole world; resulting in genocide, rape, colonialism, slavery, misogyny and homophobia. It is this spirit of inherent superiority that characterised the attitude of the European nations as they expanded overseas, competing for colonial power and the conversion of “heathen” natives. Rather than standing up against the trans-Atlantic slavery, the church helped perpetuate the practice, endeavouring to support slavery on biblical grounds. Defy the Tyrant is as relevant today as it was five years ago. As long as there is a master in the sky, there will be slaves on earth.“

Venom Prison hätten im Frühjahr hierzulande als Support von Parkway Drive live zu sehen sein wollen. Die Tour wurde wegen der Coronakrise verschoben. Bei den neuen Terminen werden die Waliser leider nicht mehr mit von der Partie sein.
