Julia L. ist die zweite Julia im MoreCore-Bunde und ergänzt das Team gerne mit Rezensionen, News, Live-Berichten sowie kleineren und größeren Schreibarbeiten. Als Germanistin aus dem schönen Hessen ist sie ständig hin- und hergerissen zwischen “da ist ein grammatikalischer Fehler im Satz!” und “am liebste tät isch de ganze Tach nur hessisch babbele”. Tippt sie nicht gerade wie wild auf der Tastatur rum, um irgendetwas zu Papier zu bringen, findet man sie gerne mit ihrem Hund im Feld oder auf Shows und Konzerten im Rhein-Main-Gebiet. Für einige Bands fährt sie aber auch gerne mal nach NRW, Rheinland-Pfalz, Bayern oder Baden-Württemberg. Autofahren tut sie auch besonders gerne und hat dabei am liebsten gute Musik laufen. Leider will wegen der bei ihren Freunden verhassten “Schreimusik” kaum jemand mitfahren. Umso besser, denn dann hört niemand, wie schief sie mitsingt!
Zehn Jahre lang machte die Mannheimer Band The Tidal Sleep die Szene mit guter Musik unsicher. Nun ist nach einer Dekade im Business Schluss und die Band verkündet ihr Ende.
Aus verschiedenen Gründen kam man zu dem Schluss, dass die gemeinsame musikalische Reise zu Ende geht, doch vorab will die Kombo das Ganze mit einer Abschiedstour feiern.

Demnach geht’s im März und April nochmal für ein paar Club-Shows auf Achse, bevor die Bandmitglieder sich dann anderen Aufgaben widmen.

Wir freuen uns, noch einmal feiern zu dürfen, bevor die Band sich dann von den Bühnen dieser Welt verabschiedet. Das ausführliche Statement zum Ende von The Tidal Sleep steht nachfolgend für euch bereit.
„Hello fellow social media connoisseurs. It’s been a while. Actually… quite a while. The last show we played was in May 2019 – oof. Well, we thought it might be a good idea to come out of hibernation once this whole pandemic topic has settled… but here we are, still struggling with this covid business. While it’s been rather calm in regards of TTS news – there have been some things happening in the shadows.
The bad news first:
The Tidal Sleeps journey will come to an end after almost 10 years of being a band. We sat down and discussed all possible outcomes in the context of a.) „Can we maintain an active touring schedule“ – which in our case means being a maximum amount of about 30 days a year on the road. b.) „can we maintain a well greased infrastructure machine while living in 5 different cities across the country“. You know, writing songs, band practice, etc.. And c.) „life priorities change once you reach a certain age and family always comes first as“ – as we all agree. And a few other things. And while we all certainly align on most of the points we didn’t align on all of them. So we took the decision to tug this band into bed and turn off the lights.
We think it’s not necessary to go into details here but eventually we made this decision together. After 10 years it just feels right to take this step. We’ll stop being a band – but we won’t stop being friends. We are so happy with what we achieved with this group. We wrote a lot of songs. We’ve seen a lot of places. We met wonderful people along the way – some of you became dear friends. We had so many supporting people during this decade it’s insane. And especially everyone who has a record at home, a shirt in the closet and/or came to a show: Thank you so much!
To counter the bad news we have finally two good news up our sleeves. First: yes – we’ll play a handful farewell shows strewn across Germany. If the pandemic let’s us. Second: This Charming Man-Records is going to release one final record with a couple of new songs we’ve recorded this autumn/winter at the RAMA Tonstudio.
