The Maine kündigen ihr neues Album an; erste Single „Sticky“ online

Zwei Jahre ist es nun her, dass The Maine ihr (noch) aktuelles Album „You Are OK“ und damit das letzte Mal neue Musik auf den Markt gebracht haben. Nun meldet sich die Kombo endlich mit Neuigkeiten und vor allem mit frischen Tönen zurück.

Das Quintett aus Tempe, Arizona kündigt nämlich ihren neuen Longplayer „XOXO: From Love And Anxiety In Real Time“ an. Die Platte wird am 09. Juli 2021 via Photo Finish Records das Licht der Welt erblicken.

Zur Feier des Tages gab es sogleich mit „Sticky“ eine erste Single auf die Lauscher. Dazu sagte Frontmann John O’Callaghan:

„I hope this song moves into a room in your head. Sonically, you can take the song however you will, but the lyrics hold a special place in my heart. ‚Sticky‘ is about that person or feeling you just can’t shake. I certainly hope it stays with you.“

Beim bevorstehenden Studio-Album handelt es sich bereits um den achten Full-Length-Player von The Maine. Zur Scheibe als solche ergänzte Frontmann John O’Callaghan noch:

„This album is quite literally a real-time dive into the duality of love and anxiety in my life. They are such opposing feelings, but they coexist all the time in my head. Life is a funny thing, but I believe everything is exactly as it should be. For my two cents, XOXO is all of the best parts of The Maine. Just the right amount of ambition and nostalgia. It can be an easy listen or a hard look into the mirror. I hope it’s whatever you need it to be.“
