STICK TO YOUR GUNS mit neuem Musikvideo

Die Jungs von STICK TO YOUR GUNS haben nun ein brandneues Musikvideo zum Titeltrack ihrer aktuellen EP „Better Ash Than Dust“ veröffentlicht. Und eigentlich könnte man damit das ganze Thema schon abhaken – wenn da nicht ein Hintergrund für den Release wäre.

Aufgrund der anhaltenden Demonstrationen gegen den Pipelinebau in North Dakota, der die dort lebenden, indigenen US-Amerikaner dazu zwingt, das Camp bis zum 05. Dezember zu verlassen, spenden sowohl die Band als auch Pure Noise Records und Good Fight Management jeweils bis zu 1.000 US-Dollar (gemessen an einen US-Dollar für jeden Share der Facebook-Videovariante) für die Standing Rock-Bewegung.

Die Pipeline führt nicht nur durch Bestattungsstätten der Vorfahren besagter Einwohner, sondern stellt auch eine Gefährdung für die dortige Wasserversorgung dar. Folgendes hatten STICK TO YOUR GUNS dazuzusagen:

„With the eyes of the world on what is happening in North Dakota and the Dakota access pipeline, I think this a perfect time to release this video. So much of what is happening to the indigenous people of what we call America is not only horrifying, but down right unacceptable. This is not just an injustice against these people, their land and their water, but it’s a perfect example of how what we call a civilized society can, more often than not, be barbaric and disgusting. The support that the whole world has shown for Standing Rock has been an inspiring thing to watch and this band stands in solidarity with them. Stick To Your Guns, Pure Noise Records and Good Fight Management will each be donating a dollar per share, up to a thousand dollars each, to Standing Rock front line warriors.
