Zuletzt waren sie noch hierzulande auf Tour, nun widmen sich die Herren von MASTODON wieder neuem Material. Wie Gitarrist Bill Kelliher in einem Video-Interview mit MikeJames RockShow verlauten ließ, habe man bereits elf Songs in der Pipeline, die man im Herbst im Studio aufnehmen möchte. Kelliher zufolge wird sich die Band wohl zwischen Oktober und November einfinden, um das mittlerweile siebte Studioalbum anzugehen:
„With the eleven songs that we’ve recorded so far it’s mostly been Brann [Dailor] and myself, I mean he lives down from the street from me, we grew up together and we wrote together… Once we get home, we’re gonna pick up where we left off, but we’re pretty well ahead of the curve. Like I said, there’s about eleven, twelve solid ideas, all full songs that are there with vocals and everything… Our plan right now is to start recording in October… November.“
