Dr. Acula schmettern uns „How To Kill A Monster“ entgegen

Endspurt. Nach zehn Jahren servieren uns Dr. Acula am 28. Oktober 2022 ihr viertes (Selftitled)-Studioalbum, welches via Silent Pendulum Records erscheint. Im Zuge dessen haben die Herren aus Long Island bereits mit drei ausgekoppelten Singles die musikalische Richtung der neuen Platte angeteasert.
Um die Vorfreude nochmal richtig anzukurbeln, schmettert uns das Quartett nun den vierten Vorgeschmack auf das langersehnte Album entgegen – in Form ihrer neuen Single „How To Kill A Monster“.

Wie sie selbst ankündigten, schließen Dr. Acula das ursprüngliche „Party“-Kapitel und widmen sich mit ihrem Comeback ernsteren Themen. Sowohl ihr musikalischer Sound als auch die Texte sind erwachsener geworden.
So thematisiert und kritisiert „How To Kill A Monster“ die Politik in den USA. Das volle Statement zur Single von Dr. Acula ließt sich wie folgt:
„US politics have garnered a fanaticism that’s more akin to sports, except politics have real consequences on our lives. People blindly cheer on their team and loathe the opposition with a surface-level understanding of the policies they support and even less of an understanding of the effect on society. The reality is, both sides create policy and take actions that have material impact on not only the lives of the US population, but the world at large. This song is a fantastical vision of the removal of the powers-that-be.“
