Unser Admin sorgt dafür, dass alles funktioniert. Manchmal funktioniert es nicht, dann ist zwar er schuld. Aber dann repariert er es und wir haben ihn alle wieder lieb.
Drei Jahre ist es bereits her, dass BackWordz ihr Debütalbum „Veracity“ auf den Markt gebracht haben. Seitdem wurde es recht ruhig um die Kombo, doch nun melden sie sich mit einem bislang unveröffentlichten Song zurück.
Die Band um Frontmann Eric July veröffentlicht eine B-Seite ihres Debütwerks. Diese trägt den Namen „The Great Equalizer“ und steht nachfolgend zum Anhören bereit.
Die Release nutzt die Band dann auch gleich, um ein Update zu ihrem bevorstehenden neuen Werk zu geben. Demnach arbeiten sie bereits seit längerem an einem Nachfolger ihres Erstlingswerks.
Die Veröffentlichung der B-Seite des aktuellen Albums wollen BackWordz weiterhin nutzen, um einmal mehr auf die politischen und gesellschaftlichen Missstände in ihrem Heimatland, den USA, aufmerksam zu machen.
„You all have been incredibly patient considering our debut album dropped almost 4 years ago. We’ve spent the last year working on our sophomore record—which we are still sorting out—but we had a track that did not make Veracity (our first album) that is very relevant today, much like the other songs on the album. This song will not be on the upcoming album, but we wanted to give you something to hold you off until the free mixtapes are ready. We touched the song up to prepare it for release. So here’s ‘The Great Equalizer,’ it will be appearing on all major digital platforms. You’re looking at the political and social landscape of America and it is as unpredictable as it has ever been. Many of you are realizing that ultimately YOU are your own first responder. Make no mistake, this is an extremely pro-gun and pro-self defense song. We unapologetically support people having the right to arm themselves and protect themselves, their families, and their property from aggressors.“
Wann genau wir mit dem neuen Longplayer der Kombo aus Dallas, Texas rechnen dürfen, ist noch nicht bekannt. „Veracity“ erschien 2017.
