Unser Admin sorgt dafür, dass alles funktioniert. Manchmal funktioniert es nicht, dann ist zwar er schuld. Aber dann repariert er es und wir haben ihn alle wieder lieb.
15 Jahre lang haben uns Abnormality mit feinsten Klängen aus dem Death Metal-Bereich beehrt. Nun ist Schluss. Wie die Band über ihre Socials mitteilte, hängen sie ihre Bandkarriere an den Nagel.
In einem Statement heißt es, dass man sich musikalisch und als Band einfach auseinander gelebt habe. Die Coronakrise und die Zwangspause in Sachen Touren habe ihr Übrigens getan, sodass man sich entschieden habe, ab sofort getrennte Wege zu gehen. Die Mitglieder wollen allerdings weiter Musik machen.
Die Band dankt ihrem Label Metal Blade Records und ihren Fans für die Unterstützung.
Abnormality verkünden ihre Auflösung nach 15 Jahren
„It is with a heavy heart today we inform you that we are closing this chapter of our lives and Abnormality is no more. This was a difficult but mutual decision by all the members and there are no hard feelings. It has been going on for a while that we felt we were growing apart, and the pandemic and travel bans were the final nail in the coffin. We are grateful for these past 15 years of making heavy music for you all and playing stages across the country and across the globe. We will never forget the awesome memories and the friendships forged. A huge thank you to Metal Blade Records, and to all of our fans for the love and support over all these years. Most of us will continue making music in other projects, so rest assured you will see us individually in one form or another.“

Insgesamt brachten Abnormality in ihrer Karriere drei Alben auf den Markt. Zuletzt erschien erst vergangenes Jahr der aktuelle Longplayer „Sociopathic Constructs“. Zuvor erschein 2016 noch die Scheibe „Mechanisms of Omniscience“ sowie 2012 das Debüt „Contaminating the Hive Mind“.
Ein Abschiedstour wird es in Anbetracht der aktuellen Umstände wohl eher nicht geben, zumindest nicht in physischer Form. Doch wer weiß – vielleicht raufen sich die Mitglieder ja „nach Corona“ für eine finale Show nochmal zusammen.
