You Me At Six: Neuer Benefiz-Song zugunsten der Brandopfer in Australien

Alle Einnahmen gehen an die WIRES Australian Wildlife Rescue Association.

You Me At Six haben einen neuen Benefiz-Song namens „Our House (The Mess We Made)“ veröffentlicht, dessen Einnahmen vollständig zugunsten der Opfer der australischen Buschbrände gehen.

You Me At Six veröffentlichen Benefiz-Song für Opfer der Brände in Australien

Frontmann Josh Franceschi veröffentlichte dazu folgendes Statement:

„We were inspired to address the issue of climate change, but equally by the hope that the youth have given me. Never in my life have I seen a younger generation take to the streets to have their voices heard than on this subject. They want change, they want their futures back because our house is on fire, and we must act now.

Seeing footage of what has been happening in Australia, we felt compelled to do something to help those who are in need, both humans and wildlife. It’s for that reason we are using the most powerful tool at our disposal to help, music.“

Our House (The Mess We Made) It was written in Thailand on November 5th 2019 while we were away being creative. At around 2am Dan & Josh went into Dan's room to shoot the shit. We talked about life and how we were both feeling. We were making a song which felt light hearted and made us both stand up and move. Then I (Josh) started to put words and melody to the music. I felt so overwhelmed by what I had been seeing as of late. Young people taking to the streets in the name of climate change & saving the planet. I felt compelled to write about it. Over Christmas we all saw the heartbreaking footage and the reality of the fight we face with the awful fires breaking out in Australia. We wanted to use our most powerful tool at our disposal, music, to unite people and help in anyway we can. Music has the ability to unite strangers & to empower both stand alone individuals, but also large groups just as potently. That being said, we are releasing OH as a stand alone single with all profits from sales and streaming going to aid those affected in Australia. We will be donating the proceeds to the charity ‘Wires’ which rescues native Australian wildlife in distress. Our hearts go out to a country that means so much to us.
