Whitechapel: Aufnahmen für neues Album beginnen diese Woche

Vergangenes Jahr haben Whitechapel ihr aktuelles Album „The Valley“ auf den Markt gebracht. Vermutlich dürfen wir uns nun spätestens 2021 schon auf einen neuen Longplayer der Kombo freuen.

Wie Gitarrist Alex Wade in einem Interview mit „Mosh Talks With Beez“ für die Slipknot-Website Knotfest.com wissen ließ, haben sie die Corona-Zeit genutzt, um ein neues Album zu schreiben. Das Beste: Die Aufnahmen dazu beginnen bereits diese Woche.

Whitechapel beginnen diese Woche mit den Aufnahmen zum neuen Album

„I definitely feel like we got kind of cut short as far as the album cycle for ‚The Valley‘ goes. But we’re trying to make the best of it that we can. We had a lot of killer tours and everything lined up this year. But it is what it is, and we just kind of have to roll with the punches.

We made the best of a bad situation, and we ended up writing another album. So we’re gonna be going into the studio this week, actually, and we’re gonna start production on that. I think, truly, if we would have ended up going on all those tours that we wouldn’t have had the time to dedicate to making the best album possible, but since we were all sitting at home on our ass, we were able to make a really killer record.“

Auch an den Clean-Vocals wolle man beim Nachfolgealbum festhalten. „The Valley“ habe viele Möglichkeiten eröffnet, sich kreativ auszutoben. An der gewohnten Härte soll es aber dennoch nicht mangeln:

„I definitely feel like ‘The Valley‘ opened up kind of like a floodgate of options for us to be creative and new avenues that we can explore, so there’s definitely gonna be quite a bit of that on the new record. But no worries — there’s still gonna be tons of heavy material, classic kind of Whitechapel sounds.“

Vor lauter Corona-Langeweile können wir uns 2021 sicher vor neuen Alben kaum retten – und das ist gut so, denn irgendetwas Positives muss diese Pandemie ja haben, oder? Das ganze Interview mit Alex Wade findet ihr nachfolgend.

Das bevorstehende Album stellt den nunmehr achten Longplayer von Whitechapel dar. Vor „The Valley“ brachten sie 2016 ihre LP „The Mark Of The Blade“ auf den Markt. Das Debüt „The Somatic Defilement“ erschien anno 2007.

Am Freitag schon sind die Herren übrigens im Vorprogramm des Livestreams von Lamb Of God zu sehen.
