Während Frontmann Tankian US-Präsident Donald Trump für seine Politikführung stets kritisiert, ist Drummer Dolmayan bekennender Trump-Supporter.

Serj Tankian machte nun einmal mehr seinen Standpunkt über seine Socials klar. In einem neuen Post auf seinem Instagram-Profil bezeichnet er alle, die den SOAD-Song „Temper“ lieben und hören, dabei aber die Politik von Donald Trump unterstützen, als „Heuchler“.

In den Kommentaren ergänzte er:

„Let me add that obviously the song was written in the 90s and refers to injustice in the US and injustice by the US via successive Democratic and Republican administrations. I just find the most current one the most repugnant.“

Ob das wohl ein Seitenhieb gegen Bandkollege John Dolmayan war? In jedem Fall ist es ein klares Statement des Sängers.

Der System Of A Down-Drummer sieht seinen Job in der Band jedenfalls nicht in Gefahr. Mit neuer Musik rechnen wir in Anbetracht der Differenzen innerhalb der Kombo jedoch so schnell auch nicht.

Die Sommershows der Kombo hierzulande fallen wegen der Coronakrise dieses Jahr aus. Das Headliner-Konzert in Berlin wird 2021 nicht nachgeholt. Bei Rock am Ring und Rock im Park stehen sie aber als Headliner auf der Bühne.
