Softcult melden sich mit der neuen Nummer „One In A Million“ zurück

Ihre bisherige Pop-Punk-Band Courage My Love scheinen die beiden Zwillingsschwestern Mercedes Arn-Horn und Phoenix Arn-Horn mittlerweile gefühlt vollständig hinter sich gelassen zu haben. Stattdessen steht ihr weiteres gemeinsames Projekt Softcult zunehmend im Fokus.

Nachdem uns das Duo im Februar ihre zweite EP „Year Of The Snake“ serviert hat, wurde es seitdem aber alles andere als still um die Geschwister.

Dem Extended Play folgten seither nämlich schon wieder zwei neue Songs namens „Been A Son“ sowie „Francis Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle“. Mit „One In A Million“ offerieren beide Musikerinnen nun schon Single Nummer drei in diesem Jahr.

Mercedes Arn-Horn spricht wie folgt über das neue Stück des Duos:

„Originally, I was writing from a frustrating perspective, expressing my feelings about the people in our society who think they are the exception and can justify repeating selfish actions, no matter who they harm in the process. As the song began to take shape, it also became about my own personal insecurities and fear of being ordinary and unexceptional, but the more I thought about it and wrote about it, I realized that accepting how similar we all are as human beings is a comforting sentiment, if not a vital one. The more we relate to each other and acknowledge our similarities, the more empathy and compassion we will have for one another. The more divided we are, the longer these issues get drawn out instead of solved. It’s important to not only celebrate our diversity and unique-ness, but also to remember that at a very basic level we are all more the same than different.“

Gegründet haben sich Softcult im Jahr 2020 und es sollte wohl nicht mehr allzu lange bis zu einem ersten vollwertigen Album dauern.

Vielleicht dienen die in jüngster Zeit veröffentlichten Singles ja bereits als Auskopplungen hierfür.
