Silverstein: Hört jetzt die neue Akustik-Version zu „California“

Kommende Woche schon bringen Silverstein ihre Platte „Redux II“ auf den Markt. Die Scheibe enthält Neuauflage von bereits bekannten Songs und stellt den Nachfolger von „Redux: The First Ten Years“ aus dem vergangenen Jahr dar.

Our producer, @samguaiana, has been behind the board for our last few releases (REDUX & REDUX II, A Beautiful Place to Drown, and When Broken is Easily Fixed LIVE). He shared his thoughts about our the upcoming REDUX II: "It’s safe to say that this year didn’t go as planned for anyone. However, staring at in the face of uncertainty sometimes comes with its little advantages: Silverstein and I got to embark on a second Redux record. Silverstein have always been a part of my musical upbringing. I can remember walking into HMV and buying a copy of Discovering the Waterfront after seeing the Smile in Your Sleep video on Much Music. I remember playing their Decade show with my old band and seeing the outpour of energy from both them and the crowd. If you told teenaged me that I’d have the opportunity to reproduce some of those songs, along with a full record of new ones, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. With this Redux, I took the approach of “same same, but different”. I wanted to keep the essence of these songs, while giving them a treatment that would stand strong next to their newest record. While some received a slight sonic upgrade, others had entire overhauls. My idea was to treat the originals as demos and rebuild from there by letting the song dictate the direction. What came of it was twelve classic songs presented through modern and exciting means. Mit „My Disaster (2.0)“ und „November“ gab es bereits zwei Neuauflagen aus der Reissue-Platte auf die Lauscher. Nun stellt die Band um Frontmann Shane Told auch eine neue Akustik-Version ihres Tracks „California“ zur Verfügung.

Im Original ist das Stück Teil des 2013 erschienenen Albums „This Is How The Wind Shifts“. Wie die neue, ruhige Variante des Songs klingt, könnt ihr euch hier und jetzt anhören.

„Redux II“ erscheint in digitaler Form kommende Woche Freitag, den 20. November 2020 und beinhaltet insgesamt zwölf Tracks. Alle Infos finet ihr hier.

Anfang diesen Jahres brachten Silverstein wiederum ihr aktuelles „vollwertiges“ Album „A Beautiful Place To Drown“ auf den Markt. Die Scheibe markiert den nunmehr zehnten Longplayer der Kanadier.

Im Frühjahr 2021 sollen die Dates der dazugehörigen Release-Tour, die ursprünglich für dieses Jahr angesetzt werden, nachgeholt werden. Hier geht’s zu den neuen Dates der Live-Rutsche.
