Kataklysm: Jean-François Dagenais gibt ein aufmunterndes Update zu seiner Covid-19-Erkrankung

Wie am Wochenende bekannt wurde, ist Kataklysm-Gitarrist Jean-François Dagenais an Covid-19 erkrankt. Nachdem er wegen schwerer Symptome zum Arzt gegangen ist, wurde er positiv auf die durch den Erreger Sars-CoV-2 ausgelöste Lungenkrankheit Covid-19 getestet.

Please read below for an update & statement from our own @jfdagenais_ about his current condition since testing positive with COVID_19: "Hey, folks! First, I want to thank everyone for the outpour of support from all our awesome fans and music colleagues around the world. It really gave me a morale boost! Last week started like any normal week. I was doing press for KATAKLYSM's new album 'Unconquered' and on Wednesday morning I woke up and felt like I got hit by a train; I had a slight fever, body aches, and very low energy. The next day I went to my doctor after no improvement and they administered the COVID test to be on the safe side. It came back positive and I was shocked because I'm the extra careful type of guy. I wear a mask religiously, wash my hands, and barely go out. Anyhow, over the weekend I started to feel much better and started feeling like my old self again. Luckily, I am in decent health with no underlying conditions. I will self-quarantine at home with my family (so far they are fine) and will be free of this thing in no time. I don't want to make a big thing out of this and overshadow the new album but wanted to share the news that anyone can get this so be careful out there. Nach einem Statement der Band meldet sich nun auch Dagenais selbst zu Wort. In einer Nachricht an die Fans schreibt er, dass es ihm mittlerweile besser gehe. Er habe sich vor einigen Tagen plötzlich sehr schlecht gefühlt, dachte aber nicht, dass er an dem neuartigen Coronavirus erkrankt ist.

Demnach halte er sich an alle Anweisungen, trage immer einen Mund-Nasen-Schutz, halte Abstand und bleibe hauptsächlich zu Hause. Das Ergebnis habe ihn überrascht.

Die ersten Tage seien furchbar gewesen, doch mittlerweile gehe es ihm wieder besser und er ist sich sicher, dass er die Krankheit überstehen werde.

Der Kanadier lebt seit ca. 10 Jahren im in den USA, wo die Fallzahlen der Coronainfektionen seit Wochen drastisch steigen. In Dagenais‘ Wohnort Dallas selbst gibt es seit Beginn der Aufzeichnungen im Mätz knapp 70.000 offizielle Meldungen zu Corona-Infizierten.

Kataklysm bringen kommenden Monat ihr neues Studioalbum „Unconquered“ auf den Markt. Die Scheibe markiert das nunmehr 14. Studioalbum der Kombo.
