Deftones: Chino Moreno verrät sein Lieblingsalbum der Band

Vergangene Woche haben die Deftones ihr neues Album „Ohms“ auf den Markt gebracht. Die Scheibe markiert den insgesamt neunten Longplayer der Kalifornier und den Nachfolger des 2016 erschienenen „Gore“.

Deftones-Frontmann Chino Moreno verrät das Lieblingsalbum seiner Band

In einem neuen Interview mit Zane Lowe für Apple Music verrät Frontmann Chino Moreno nun, welches Album sein absoluter Liebling ist. Dabei handelt es sich um den zweiten Longplayer „Around The Fur“, der 1997 das Licht der Welt erblickte.

Sie seien damals noch sehr jung gewesen und die Arbeiten an der Scheibe sowie der Output selbst hätten damals etwas ganz Besonderes gehabt.

„…Honestly, I still think that record [‘Around The Fur‘] will always be my favorite record. One of the main reasons why… For one, we were pretty young. We were probably late, maybe mid-20s then, something like that. But we were on fire. […] we were so confident… we wrote, recorded it and mixed it and everything within this four-month period – which is really not that long from the time you start writing songs to the time you’re listening to it going, ‘Wow.’ We loved that.

[…] There’s something about it that’s really, really special. And then we had a lot of attention obviously, but I don’t think it affected like as far as in a negative way at least of like, ‘Oh, we need to do,’ like all of that stress of, ‘Oh, we need to make something that’s going to be up to par.’

It was like I was looking at the record before it going, ‘Oh, we’re about to crush that. I don’t even care about that.’ I was just so excited to show people what was to come, you know? And I think we all were. It just one of those things where we definitely captured lightning in a bottle, like straight-up.“

„Around The Fur“ stellt den Nachfolger des Debüts „Adrenaline“ von 1995 konnte erstmals sehbare Chart-Erfolge einfahren. Die Platte wurde bis heute in den USA mit Platin und in Australien sowie Großbritannien mit Gold ausgezeichnet.

Die aktuelle Scheibe „Ohms“ erschien Corona-bedingt später als eigentlich angedacht. Da auch die Live-Shows der Deftones aus dem gleichen Grund dieses Jahr flach fielen, feiern wie die Release des neuen Longplayers nächstes Jahr.

2021 sind die Mannen für einige Festival-Auftritte und Headliner-Shows planmäßig hierzulande live zu sehen. Alle Infos dazu findet ihr hier.
