Asking Alexandria: Neues Album ist „fertig“; Probleme mit Sumerian Records

Asking Alexandria haben allem Anschein nach die Arbeiten zu ihrem neuen Album bereits komplett fertiggestellt. Das verriet Gitarrist Ben Bruce nun in einem Interview mit dem Radiosender KCAL 96.7.

Demnach könne er den neuen Longplayer theoretisch jederzeit veröffentlichen.

Alles sei im Kasten und fertig, doch das Plattenlabel Sumerian Records wollte lange Zeit erst noch weitere Singles des 2017 erschienenen Selftitled-Albums veröffentlichen (via ThePRP).

„It’s done. It’s ready to go. I could release it tomorrow. It’s done, we’re ready. Our label, most labels want you to keep spitting out new music so they can make money, but our label is doing the opposite. They want us to take more singles from the self-titled to radio. That’s just boring. I don’t want to spend time on a single that I wrote three years ago or two years ago. I’m ready to put new music out into the world.“

Aktuell gäbe es mit Sumerian wohl noch Klärungsbedarf, wie es weitergehen soll, doch man komme wohl langsam zu einer Einigung. Der Gitarrist ist der Meinung, dass es nicht mehr allzu lange dauern würde, bis das Album endlich erscheinen könne:

„That’s a battle we’re having with our label right now, but I think we’re coming to the end of that battle and I think we’ve figured out when we’re going to release the record, and it shouldn’t be too long. I’m just waiting to pull the trigger. The self-titled album did so much for us as a band. We almost reinvented ourselves and took our career to a whole new level and it’s been really good.“

Wir hoffen, dass dem wirklich so ist. Im Juli gab es mit dem Song „The Violence“ bereits einen ersten Vorgeschmack auf die bevorstehende Scheibe zu hören.

Die neue LP markiert das nunmehr sechste Studioalbum von Asking Alexandria.
