Tenacious D kündigen ihr neues Album „Post-Apocalypto“ an

Was das Comedy-Rock-Duo Tenacious D bereits vor ein paar Monaten angekündigt hat, wurde nun auch offiziell bestätigt. Die Band um Jack Black und Kyle Gass wird demnach am 02. November dieses Jahres ihr brandneues Studioalbum „Post-Apocalypto“ veröffentlichen. Es handelt sich hierbei um den ersten neuen Longplayer seit „Rize of the Fenix“ aus dem Jahre 2012.

Tenacious D holen sich erneut Dave Grohl für die Drums

Mit Dave Grohl von den Foo Fighters wird sich abermals ein alter Bekannter ans Schlagzeug setzen. Auch hier wird er abermals für alle Songs entsprechende Schlagzeug-Arbeit leisten; so wie bereits bei allen anderen Alben vorher.

Im Zuge der Vorbereitung auf das Album wird die Band eine neue, acht-teilige YouTube-Reihe starten, die denselben Namen wie der Longplayer tragen und demnächst ihren Anfang nehmen soll. Einen ersten Teaser findet ihr weiter unten. Hier noch die offizielle Beschreibung zur Videoreihe:

„True to the title, Post-Apocalypto finds Tenacious D thrust into a world of complete and utter destruction following the drop of an atomic bomb. Surviving the attack in classic cinematic fashion (a good old imperishable 1950’s refrigerator), the duo quickly learns that new forms of evil have spawned from the blast. One thing becomes apparent — for humanity to prevail, Tenacious D must save the world.

With unimaginable twists and turns, an insane visit to the White House, a time machine, a space adventure, and the help of some tried and true daddy issues, Post-Apocalypto is as hilarious as it is political, and as brilliant and multi-faceted as its incredible creators. The songs are damn good, too.“
