Kylesa: Laura Pleasants sammelt Spenden für krebskranken Partner

Leider wenig erfreuliche Nachrichten erreichen uns aus dem Lager von Kylesa – und sei es auch nur indirekt. Wie Sängerin und Gitarristin Laura Pleasants im Rahmen einer jüngst gestarteten GoFundMe-Kampagne wissen lässt, leide ihr Lebensgefährte an einer Krebserkrankung. Die Einnahmen der Spenden möchte das Paar im Kampf gegen die Krankheit verwenden und fügt an, dass jeder noch so kleiner Betrag in diesen dunklen Tagen hilft. Nachricht der Kylesa-Sängerin an alle potenziellen Spender

“Our journey began September 7th when Brian went in for an endoscopy. He was having classic symptoms of acid reflux but the general medicine was not working and his symptoms were getting worse. We went in thinking that there was a large ulcer or maybe a bad case of GERD. When we heard the word “mass”, we looked at each other with tears in our eyes, completely shocked.

We followed with more tests, doctor visits, a couple of trips to MUSC in Charleston and we landed with an ugly diagnosis. The cancer is in the esophagus, stomach and abdomen lining. We don’t want to get too detailed here… but we do have a lot of medical expenses that are not covered by Brian‘s insurance.

This will be the fight of our lives and we aim to win; to beat this ugly bastard known commonly as Cancer. Neither of us can work at the moment as Brian is not able to and I (Laura) am his nurse and want to be by his side as much as possible through this uphill battle.

It is not in our nature to set up a financial campaign like this, but many folks have asked if/how/where to donate or how to help. This will help pay for a surgery we had to do, medical equipment, medical bills, trips to Charleston, every day stuff like proper food, drugs, etc. It all adds up rather quickly – especially with Laura only working a few hours here and there.

We aim to fight. We aim to win. Any amount, no matter how small, will aid us in this battle. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We love each other more than anything in this world and we love you for caring and helping.
